Message from the Chairman of the Board

It is with great pride and responsibility that I present this message on behalf of the Board of Directors of the National Enterprise and Development Chamber (NEDC). Our Chamber has been established at a time when Tanzania’s entrepreneurial spirit is undeniable, yet the gaps in our ecosystem have left too many young talents and promising enterprises without the opportunity to grow.

We want to assure every stakeholder government, development partners, private sector, and our members that NEDC is built on a foundation of transparency, integrity, and accountability. The Board of Directors has been constituted to ensure that this institution adheres to the highest standards of governance.

For our members, NEDC is a true home. For our partners and donors, NEDC is a safe haven a platform where resources are managed with integrity and professionalism, and where impact is measured with honesty.

With such governance in place, we can confidently say to all our stakeholders: engaging with NEDC is an investment in Tanzania’s future that is both secure and meaningful. On behalf of the Board, I reaffirm our commitment to steering this Chamber with wisdom, responsibility, and vision. Together with the Executive Team, we will ensure that NEDC fulfills its mandate, delivers tangible impact, and stands as a pillar of enterprise development for generations to come.

Message from the Founder & Executive Director

When I walk through the streets of our cities and towns, I see a truth that both inspires me and troubles me. I see the creativity, the drive, and the raw talent of our young people. I also see how much of that potential is wasted not because of a lack of ambition, but because of a gap in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The National Enterprise and Development Chamber (NEDC) was born from a conviction: that no talent should go to waste, and no entrepreneur should be left without support. We exist to close the gap to bring together the haves and have-nots into one powerful movement of enterprise, innovation, and national development.

NEDC is not just a chamber. It is a platform, a voice, and a family for entrepreneurs of all backgrounds. We are here to connect them to finance, markets, training, mentorship, and the policies that can unlock their growth.

As we begin this journey, our mission is simple but bold: to shape the next Tanzania one where enterprise is the driver of prosperity, where opportunity is shared, and where the ideas of today’s youth become the enterprises of tomorrow.
